I just bought a new 13 inch macbook pro with a Firewire 800 port. I want to use a firewire cabe to transfer files, using Migration Assistant, from my Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics) with a Firewire port that has a 400 Mb/sec Speed. My question is what cable do I need? Is there a standard one or do I need a special cable to work between the two ports? Many thanks

You'll need a 9-to-6-connector cable, or a 9-to-6 adapter. If the ends look like they'll plug in, it's the right cable. :)

If you need an 800-to-400 adapter cable, you might try:
    monoprice.com

Even with the cost of shipping figured in, their prices beat nearly everyone else's...

Second this, monoprice is a great store for these things and a lifetime warranty... very happy with them.
