Anyone aware of any (good) firewire memory stick readers, and if it would really make a speed difference?
I am not aware at how fast these cards can transmit data

The ones that I have seen online seem to be from no-name companies that I wouldn't trust with plugging into my precious mac.

They're basically all the same, I think. Good memory cards can sustain a few MB/sec. USB can sustain a little over 1MB/sec in comparison. So it's up to you whether the speed boost and reduced CPU usage during transfers will be worth it...

I was hoping that it would do a little better than just double the speed, for the price I would just rather use my cable to connect directly to the camera and deal with it. I thought flash memory could be a lot faster than that, oh well, guess I was wrong.
