And not in America where it's as commonplace as baseball and apple pie. :(

So you needlessly inject the US into a thread about a Canadian school shooting.

    In Post No. 2.

Somehow your Saddy Face more resembles a Capitalize On Crisis Face.

But kudos on derailing a thread in no less than two posts!

    WHOOP! WHOOP!

No... Canada doesn't have a 2nd amendment. They have democracy, as opposed to our republic and constitution.

This is not a gun thing, this is a Canadian reserve thing. I'd rather live in the hood than a Canadian Indian Reserve.

He asked if this is going to become a gun thread... I answered no. Most PRSI gun threads are about the US and the 2A.

I don't think so. It's been the worst shooting in a decade and the mentality in terms of "gun 'culture'" up here in Canada thankfully is too different to have it turn into the average PRSI gun thread. :)

My intent was to simply report on event I thought was newsworthy. I didn't mention anything about the US or the 2nd Amendment since it happened in Canada.

So, the intent wasn't to show that this happens everywhere, just like in the US, and thus it happening in the US so much isn't that big of a deal?

If it truly was just "another school shooting" post, then i certainly misjudged the OP. I have a feeling I'm not the only one.

Good grief. Try reading what was actually posted. Nowhere did I say any of that nonsense you are posting.

I posted a newsworthy event and said it was sad to see it happen. I can't help how you and others choose to deliberately mis-characterize the post.

I guess only posts about school shootings in the US are allowed.

I have a feeling you are the only one trying (and failing) to justify the derailment of this thread.

To be honest, I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to post it with that intent - as a direct comparison of shooting statistics US vs Canada would make that person appear to be a completely uneducated moron :) .

Alright. I sincerely apologize for thinking you may have motive behind your post. So yes, it is a very sad event, as are all school shootings. Luckily for Canadians, it's a very rare event since they took care of business.

    .......yes........

    No, they didn't.

Thanks for the apology, however, in the future please accept my words at face value.

They have unrestricted, restricted, and prohibited classes of firearms. Here's information on restricted ones.

To be clear, they do not seem to have easily obtainable concealed carry permits. That isn't the same as banning all guns, and if you meant that, you should have specified it.

And they successfully avoid monthly mass shootings.

They didn't avoid anything. It happened.

But not on a very frequent basis, correct? No-one can stop these things from happening altogether but it is possible to make them happen less.
