Flash video playback is slow

When playing video from youtube, disney or just mtv using standered options and default windows size the playback is slow and 99% of the time it acts like it's in slow motion mode why is that? PPC G4 1GHZ 1GB of Ram. Flash 10.

Like when I first run my computer it is ok then after about a hour it gets bad.
