    Camp Out

I was thinking about it. Have you camped out at Flatirons before? I'm not sure exactly where we are allowed to stay...

    Nope

I haven't camped out there yet however I am going to try to do it this time. I'm thinking the earlier the better.

    Agreed

Ya, I agree, the earlier the better. I haven't pre-ordered, and if I can't get one on launch day I'll be really sad...

Are you thinking like 8:00 PM or so on Wednesday evening? I might go to the Apple store today to get more information about camping out.

    More info

So, I went down to the Flatirons Apple store today to get more info about camping out. The associate that I spoke with said that when the iPad was released, they had people showing up to Flatirons at 2 AM, and they are guessing that people will show up a lot earlier than that for this release.

The place where we are allowed to camp out is by the fountain entrance, just to the side of Dick's. I don't know about you, but my wife and I are willing to camp out all night, we're just not sure whether to show up around the time that the mall closes or even earlier than that.

    Any thoughts?

I'll be there around midnight. Flatirons is a great place to camp out if you decide to do it. See quackmans post for location. Like all the Apple stores, they'll have 2 lines. One for those that have one reserved and another for those that want to take a chance on waiting for one. I was the first one to get the 3GS @ Flatirons when it launched and people started showing up at 5 am. I got there just after 4 and was first in line. Obviously, this launch is completely different and I'm sure lines will begin a lot earlier than that. Happy camping and good luck.

Got in line about an hour ago. If I had to guess I'd say there's probably 75 to 100 campers in from to me in the first come first serve line.

From the important person I was waiting in line for, she said they started handing out cards to the people behind her in the purchase line, at 10:00 AM

I just got back from the Flatirons. Was watching the line while I ate, it was moving pretty slow.

If I had to guess I'd say they'll run out of iPhones before they clear out the line.

    --

Decided to head back to the mall to see how things were progressing. They were sold out of iPhones for people who didn't/couldn't reserve. They took my email address, and are suppose to email me when more iPhones are delivered. I received this confirmation email:

Your iPhone 4 will be here before you know it. Look for an email from us letting you know it's ready to pick up. When you come in, we'll have Specialists ready to help you set up your iPhone 4 so it's just the way you like it. We look forward to seeing you at the store.

Flatirons has "plenty" of iPhones today

Walked right in and bought one.

The funny thing is, the salesman was talking about being out of almost all accessories, and that they don't get shipments until later in the day. Makes me wonder if they sold out yesterday, or just kept some reserves for today.

They're out now. Was told they're expecting in a shipment later today.
