So he was for "stay the course" before he was against "stay the course? WTF? Does he think the public is really this dumb?
Is there a term for the speed in which a thread devolves into quoting 1984, like there is for bringing up Hitler?
This president credibility rating is 0, Stay the Course! Stay the Course! WMDs WMDS. Anyone who even had a hint of another idea was CUTTING AND RUNNING! Cutting and Running. I wish this president would pull his head out of Cheneys A... Bush is a fricking Liar. There I said it.

When I first heard this comment during Stephanopoulos' interview, I seriously thought I was having an auditory hallucination. I had to listen to it again. Unbelievable. Does Bush really think he can get away with such a boldfaced lie, right out there in the open for everybody to see? Nobody could possibly rationalize this statement.
Did he actually say that? I say we put GW on the streets of Ramadi for one day. Of course we'll give him a pistol with one extra clip and see how he does.
I'm just saying that since he is the soul person responsible for having lost the lives of so many good men/women in the military, it's high time for him to risk his life too, even if it's just for one day.
He's probably right. He doesn't have a strategy of his own. Someone should pull together that statement, along with a number of clips of "stay the course" and see how embarrassing it really is.

We can hope for a tipping point. Apparently, the aristocracy in pre-Revolutionary France never saw what was coming...
Yeah, I posted this in another thread. http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/10/22/bush-well-listen-weve-never-been-stay-the-course-george/ Remember, he also tried to say he never linked Iraq to 9/11. I'm sure it's somehow all Clinton's fault. Funny, Billy's lies look quaint by comparison.
bush is an idiot. gives us americans a bad name. he took 9/11, a time where the world gave us sympathy and support. and turned millions against us
It should be a requirement for any so called leader to to send his children to fight. That alone would stop the Neocon from killing so many over lies. WMDs? Bush repeated this mantra a zillion times yet there wasnt any? I guess its Ok if your a republican/christian to kill hundreds of thousands for a lie. Now 2 weeks before another election he is saying he doesnt want to STAY THE COURSE but I guess no one in America even cares. I wouldnt even be surprised if our Moron nation reelects a republican Congress. America doesnt think, it lets commercials think for it. Isnt that what it boils down to and whoever has the most commercials win?

So...are we "staying the course" or "cutting and running"? Turns out the answer is "yes". CNN At best this is a muddled message: "Even though we said, 'Stay the course', we are going to change our strategy, which is not changing the course, and we're not changing our policy, but we do want to appear flexible." Huh? Best I can figure they mean the goals will remain the same, but the tactics will change. And if that's what they mean...what's so different about that from what they've been doing? They've been changing tactics and strategies for the last year or two, and nothing, nothing has been working. And benchmarks? Don't make me laugh. The Iraqi security forces were supposed to have dozens of units combat-ready last year. Now they're saying that it'll be another 12-18 months until that's the case. And you know what? I'll bet that's a really optimistic estimate.
