Let's see how some here will justify this shooting.

How about waiting for the investigation to be completed and the facts to surface before jumping to any conclusions?

The better question is why are we so afraid of each other that we shoot first

People move to Florida to die, but usually they are much older. The police there are just speeding up the process.

The only facts we need to know to tell whether this will gain national coverage is if the officer is white or black.

So an old man rummaging for smokes terrified cops enough to justify lethal force...that's the gist of it?

Police were responding to a 911 call reporting a possible burglary. Naturally they go into those situations in a heightened state of alertness.

You know, "if you see something say something", even if it gets innocent people killed.

So, are you saying that only white police officers are capable of being this badly trained? That is kind of racist.

I have the strange idea that a lot of police officers of all races are badly trained.

Black officer accidentally shoots an innocent black guy during a reported robbery, black officer is in trouble.

White officer accidentally shoots an innocent black guy during a reported robbery, all white people are racist.

No, that's not how it works in America. Your new race is blue once you become an officer. Plenty of cases accusing black officers for racially profiling and/or outright abuse.

For example: The Sean Bell's shooting. The officers were black, hispanic, and white.

The result doesn't say much for their "heightened state of alertness", does it?

That isn't an excuse to shoot anyone.

Don't be ridiculous. That's not why they shot. They shot because they felt that they were in danger. It was a judgement call.

Did you read the article? It says, "Morgan said the deputies reported that, after they'd made multiple commands to Middleton to show his hands, he eventually lunged out of the car and spun toward them, causing them to 'fear for their safety.'"

So this guy has his head buried into the seat looking for a smoke and suddenly sees two people pointing guns at him and he doesn't have a right to be startled?

Arguing about what, the cops have a trigger finger. They shot an unarmed man.

As a 60 year old man why should I follow the cops order if I've done nothing wrong?

Why is it I need to execute a cops order immediately?

How do you know he was unarmed? They said he spun around and lunged. It may have been in bad lighting. What would you say if he'd done the same thing but been armed, and one of the officer's had been shot?

So it took them 17 shots to decide this? Also it proves they have bad aim.
