Wait, so if you take a sharp knife to something it messes it up?

Holy cow, stop the presses!

Next thing you know we'll find out fire is hot, water is wet, ice is cold, and some folks are jealous 'cuz they didn't get the Sierra Blue model. : )

😂No… no jealousy here.. thought it was funny wordplay.

although it’s an extreme example, it gives an idea of durability… but the “sapphire” glass.. kind of misleading

As long as the ‘faux sapphire’ glass holds up I don’t care what it really is. Why do you keep trying to rain on other people’s parades? 🙄

:p .... it's called "schadenfreude" .... no seriously.. I'm just poking fun.... I'm enjoying my booooring graphite 13PM... .... no, really I am! 😂

Wow. How many people carry a knife inside their pockets next to their iphones. Yet again another worthless thread. Too many of those this week....

I'd say that video is a pretty solid testament to how durable the modern iPhones are. Why would this make me run for a case if I had decided to go without?
I agree… finally someone who gets the point of the video. I think it’s a pretty darn good testament!

I ran naked for 10 years! Finally put a case on this latest iPhone. The 12PM wasn’t that durable in my case, it was extremely slippery and fell out of my pocket numerous times onto the carpet and into the crevices of my car, leading to 2 scratches on the “most durable screen” at the time. These were less than 1 foot drops, on somewhat soft surfaces. The rest of the phone was fine though.

Meh. Never put a case on any iPhone i’ve ever owned, and I wouldn’t start now. I bought the device to use it and enjoy it — I don’t expect it to stay in pristine condition; I’m not trying to preserve it.

I’ve always been a naked user with my prior iPhones, usually I have 2-3 cases that I alternate between but they never stay on for long. I mean these phones are beautiful and I like to show off it’s premium quality plus that’s what apple care is for.

I buy iPhones not only for their software but because they look great. I've never put any of mine in a case or skin since the 3GS and I never will. I'd rather take the risk, with insurance as backup, than carry around an ugly block.

Alright, I’m convinced. After over a decade of nudity I’ll finally put a case on it.

Now I just need a recommendation for a case that will make me less likely to take a knife out and start slicing away at my phone…

For me I use it in the silicone case when I leave the house and use the phone outside but without a case when at home or at my desk for example

I never used a case, even during the iPod touch years.
I finally broke down and purchased an apple leather case this year, doesn’t really add much heft and also makes it easier to grip the phone ( no sliding out of my pocket when I sit).
