Jerry Brown has closed his investigation into ACORN, concluding that there was no "there" there (at least for the most part). The videos we have seen involving the pimp and the prostitute were edited to make the scenes look much worse than what actually happened.

If you're an honest person and somebody comes to you with any sort of extra-legal deal, you throw them out, instantly. To offer any sort of advice of any sort which would enable somebody to "game the system" is crook behavior.

Just the fact that the dynamic duo was allowed to converse long enough to have enough video to edit shows that they were not dealing with an honest person...

Maybe read the article next time: "One ACORN worker in San Diego called the cops. Another ACORN worker in San Bernardino caught on to the scheme and played along with it, claiming among other things that she had murdered her abusive husband. Her two former husbands are alive and well, the Attorney General's report noted."

Sounds good, now. (Shrug) Shame there was no mention of all this do-gooding at the time of the event. Would have redounded greatly to the benefit of that office...

Once the deal went national, think of the fun to be had by calling up your local TV station and newspaper and laying out the whole episode. That would have left the scammers high and dry.

That it was not done certainly gave credence to the story.

The tape was edited. It was only now that the unedited tape has been released that the true events are known.

O'Keefe is pretty successful with his guerrilla tactics. He played a large part in the demise of ACORN and he got funding cut for Planned Parenthood. But he failed with his attempt to interfere with the phones of Senator Mary Landrieu. Sneaky little mofo.

ACORN is corrupt. We've already established this, move on.

Ah, I must have missed that. Though, it is almost a moot point, since their political wing is basically shut down. What is relevant is the other side of well established corruption in a certain media network that pushed hard on this issue. Sadly, there are no standards or regulations regarding the validity or accuracy of news content.

When the truth came out about ACORN, Fox did nothing to clear the matter up. They didn't mention the video was heavily edited. There was a good amount of evidence this was full of it to begin with but now it's concrete.

Voter fraud, and on top of it they also helped these people get information on how to cheat the system, video editing doesn't allow you to put words in peoples mouths less you forget.

    So much wrong here

    1) They are required by law to report all bad voter registrations. They did not submit those applications, they reported them, and the people that did them were fired.

    2) The people involved in those videos were reprimanded. What more do you want?

    3) Yes it can.

OK I've been hearing about this ACORN thingy for months now but how are their business practices effecting me?

What exactly has this ACORN done?

Is this a real company or some sort of internet meme?

As much as I have heard about all this it all seems very vague and general.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now mounted a serious voter registration drive in an effort to "influence" the 2008 election. Compare this to Diebold's efforts to influence the 2004 election.
