Hello everyone! I know that we'll have some new and awesome text-to-speech software packaged along with OS 10.5 when it comes out (I believe Alex is the name of the new voice, right?), but I had a couple of questions about the current voices like Fred and Victoria.

Do you know if it's possible to modify the files for the voices in any way? Or even if it's possible to find the files that code for the voices just so I can look at them to see how they work.

I was wondering if there was any way that I could attempt to create my own text-to-speech voice (based on my own voice for kicks, heh :D ).

If anyone knows anything about this, I'd really appeciate any information.
I took a look on google, but I didn't really find much. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places? Or maybe my inquiry is too specific?
    Thank you!

Instal the Developer tools on the OS X DVD's.

    "SRLanguageModeler.app" and "Repeat After Me.app".
