Anyone who says their 4S is a big upgrade from a 4, but the 5 isn't a big upgrade from the 4S, is simply jealous.

A technological feature everyone seems to forget is all the technology that went into the display assembly that makes the retina display thinner, clearer, and stronger.

Are we talking hardware or software? ;)

When the iPhone 4S came out, everyone made the same complains about the 4S. "other than being faster, it only has Siri". Yes since the 4S has come out we have seen a lot of other software features added that differentiates the two, but initially that was the "only thing new".... It's the same with the 4S to 5. Other than being faster, it only has a larger screen. Over time, software features will make the iPhone 5 better than the 4S, but initially there isn't a lot of difference.

Frankly, I think people think that with every new iPhone there will be a laundry list of new killer hardware features and that just doesn't happen. The iPhone evolves, just like any smart phone. The Revolution was the iPhone 2G, and from there Apple adds more speed and new features with each new phone. It really is only one major new thing. iPhone 3G = 3G. iPhone 3GS = Faster (which we now take for granted with each model). iPhone 4 = retina display. iPhone 4S = Siri. iPhone 5 = Larger display.....

Aside from LTE which not everyone is able to utilize, the half inch screen is it over the 4S. There's not much the 5 can do that the 4s can't.

That's not what this is over. It's over the amount of new features.. Both phones can practically do the same because... Guess... They're both running ios6.

Hardware is where you see the upgrades over the last year phone.

Processor is quicker, screen, camera lens, LTE, size and build materials, connector, speakers, microsim, etc etc etc.

I don't understand why you all think this phone needs to be a whole redesign and all new everything..

The phone is badass as it is, and you all know it. Sells numbers don't lie. Complain all you want but Apple is not having a hard time selling any of their phones, so something is being done correctly.

My employer buys my phones and pays the service. All I have to do is ask and a few days to a week later I have a new phone in my box. I'm still holding onto my 4S. Believe it or not just because you don't have a 5 doesn't mean you are dumb or can't afford it, you might just not want one. I'm going to hold out a couple months to see what comes on the market then decide.

why'd you feel the need to say that??

could have easily gotten your point out without that lol.

*edit your username explains it all. cynical ;)

friends said, iphone 4 has retina, iphone 4s has siri, iphone 5 has nothing new.

yes it's only refinements made on the iPhone 5 that makes using it much more pleasure.

but iPhone 5 for me has a really best and important feature, it's something we complained al lot when we heard the rumour about iPhone 5 was only going to use the battery almost as the same capacity as the 4S's battery.
:

info: i dont use LTE, because dont have LTE in my area.

I'm stuck with a 4S for a while, so-- I'm jealous. Because for me, actually, LTE would be a big plus, and the data rate of the 4S is only so-so. On the other hand, Google Maps works, and, I'm not about to upgrade iOS. Without the speed (LTE/improved HSPA+), I don't see a big advantage for the 5, sorry.

Your friends have upgrade eligibility envy! =P

If you used LTE in a good reception area, your friends would eat their words. AT&T 3G here in Austin is mediocre. Ever since I got the i5 and now have LTE, I couldn't believe the speed a gained. It literally feels like I'm on my home wiFi when I'm out and about. Blazing fast.

I don't have LTE in my area yet either, but man I can't wait until it rolls out finally. I'm not getting that kind of battery life on mine, but I leave BT enabled all day so it will automatically connect to receiver when I get in my car. I have push enabled and I'm sure I've got too many notifications that I really don't even need to have on. But I have yet to actually test it out on a full charge and go all the way to 0. I think I'll give it a go tomorrow.

i used to do the same for my car with the BT. Ive started to just connect it manually when i walk out to it. sucks thoough when you leave it on, it will start right back on the song you were last listening to.. if i turn off bluetooth, then turn it on before i get back in the car it wont :(

wish the ip5 had NFC so i could do tags in my car to turn bluetooth on/handfree mode etc. or one to lower the brightness etc

You know that's actually a pretty cool idea. I'm always wondering what I would actually use NFC for on a daily basis.

LOL. How is it that people keep ignoring the most obvious change in the ip5, I.e. larger screen, but then those same people went on and on and on about how their Samsung phone or HTC had a bigger screen than the Ip4 or 4s.

Now suddenly the ip5 has nothing new to offer.
