Not surprising. My favorite was the hero story that emerged when Frist became more prominent, highlighting vast compassion. Like this story does
Frist, like most that we elect are only out for themselves.
I say make the salary no greater than the true middle class. Get rid of the expensive campaigns, and give the Congress to the people that count; not the corporations!
This being the guy that says he's not sure if AIDS can be spread through sweat and tears (despite being a Dr.), is against government healthcare (wanting all healthcare privatized), and a member of the (very) Christian right. Despite being against almost everything a Christian (and a Dr.) stand for. He wants to run for Pres in '08. Here's hoping he loses.
Shoot, the news organizations do the same thing. Frist ain't the only person looking for sensational backdrops.
It's a little amusing that since there are no clear candidates for 2008 every Senator and Governor in the country is trying to get on the evening news for a few minutes.
Unfortunately Politicians can serve a purpose and then be hired by Corporations they served as exorbitantly paid (and yet viturally worthless) "advisors" or any other title that suggests value while really meaning nothing, after they have retired. Either that or suddenly all of their relations recieve cushy jobs with incredible salaries and benefits.
I still believe in making the salary exorbitant but the ethical restrictions dranconian.
Newt Gingrich has not ruled out running for Prez in 08. A new Contract on America to come?
