The other day, we were expecting a contractor at 10 am. I'm blithely working on my Mac and occasionally checking my watch. At one point, my spouse says, "I suppose we should start thinking about getting ready". (Dishes to do, work area to clear, switching from pajamas to clothes, etc.)
I glance at my watch and respond, "Oh, we have plenty of time." It was only 8:22 am.
I keep working; she keeps reading the news. Some time passes, and she expresses the same thought. I look down at my watch and -- shock of shocks -- it still says 8:22 am.!
I tap different complications -- nothing. Heart rate doesn't come up, workouts don't appear, hourly bar is static and won't show the weather clock, activity rings do not change and reveal breakdowns.
The watch face is FROZEN.
Never happened before. I even tapped side buttons for apps and favorites (dock) and, IIRC, while they might have appeared, after exiting them, I was returned to the same frozen watch face -- with the 8:22 staring at me, mocking me. I thought, "Oh, my word! My watch is bricked, broken, kaput!"
Then I tried one other thing -- the only thing that worked -- sliding across the screen to a a different watch face and then back again. That's when the time changed and I discovered it was 9:22 am! After that, I rebooted the watch. (Which was probably another solution.)
In any event, has this ever happened to you? And, what did you do? Is there some obvious trick to this? Besides what I stumbled on?
