Absolutely not San Fran. NY is your better bet. If then....it may be 3rd or 4th quarter of 2002 before you see it.

who says it will actually be called a G5? what's to say that they don't make a new processor line. pentium has many different lines-including the new itanium.

Actually, Apple and Motorola are to say that it will be called a G5. Motorola and other companies that do semiconductors and such often do long-term blueprints, and the next generation chip has been referred to as a "G5" in all such documents.

G2000

I remember reading a article in MacAddict a LONG time ago about Apple's future plans, including the G4 (this will change Apple's market share, we sware :¬) and the article went on about IBM making the G3 and Motorola being the key party for the G4. Then they said that in the future Apple planned to make the next generation chip the G2000 w/IBM. I pray that's a dumb code name.

The G3 means power.
Thus the G4 is incredible.
The "G5" would make it old.
