Sounds like this has potential, yet I've never heard anything about it. Anybody?
I don't think there would be a need when you already have other network protocols and are cross-platform compatible with Windows.
There's one that I know of, I believe it's called Conquest. It's a nifty Risk type game.
NASCAR Racing has this for network play
To clarify, Rendezvous is Apple's Implementation of Zeroconf which is available under many platforms including Windows.
Microsoft does not include an implementation of the Zeroconf API with windows but they are available. One such api is Howl by Porch Dog Software.
Exactly. So using a protocol for cross-platform compatibility (like mac and windows) when it isn't a standard windows protocol would seem to only complicate things.
I did some searching for games that support rendezvous, and this is what i found:
Pop-pop added support for rendezvous in v1.02 - http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum67/HTML/000202.html. There is also this pong game that uses rendezvous http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21880. As has already been mentioned, NASCAR uses rendezvous. Ambrosia has a 3D racing game in progress that will support rendezvous http://www.insidemacgames.com/news/story.php?ArticleID=9102. Thats all i could really find at this point.
