im using a 2ghz g5 with ram a plenty, and garage band still acts really slow. when i click on loops, it takes a while. the first time i used it my computer got kernel panic. but, does anyone else have this problem of slowness?

I run a G4 Dual 1.25 with 1.5 gig of Ram but I have had no issues at all. GB is not screaming but it runs smooth for me. Have you updated to 10.3.2 yet?
Have you had anymore Kernel panics since

How much is a plenty? If it's less than 1 GB, that's not all that much.

I've a dual G4/800 with 1.5 GB and GarageBand runs smoothly. It's most likely that there will be updates within 1.5 months for it anyway.

As far as your kernel panic goes, did you use Disk Utility to repair permissions?
