Exposing the "family values" crowd for their hypocrisy should become a national pastime. :D

Nope. I despise hypocrisy, but I also think ruining someone else's life by revealing secrets or, as in this case, repeating gossip is beyond the pale.

How about ruining the lives of thousands of couples by spouting degrading and bigoted rhetoric meant to drum up support for laws that strip them and their families of legal rights? Is that ok?

When you sign up, you agree to be watched by millions. The hypocracy stems from the privacy they have. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

I guess she has nothing to lose by revealing what she knows. Although its fair game if anyone digs up dirt on her.

Are you saying there are no bounds when it comes to political disputes?

    ----------

Again I ask: are there no bounds in political disputes? Can you ruin someone else's life with no more proof than gossip?

    Have you no shame?

    ----------

"Sign up"? You mean political types have no right to private lives?

Those bounds were broken the second those lawmakers had the audacity to harm thousands of Alabamians with their vile words.

As for the proof, I certainly hope she has some!

So someone makes noises with his mouth that you don't like and that gives you the right to ruin his life? See how fragile your right to free speech is?

Wait a minute. You just said they deserved it proof or not.

No, the fact that someone is in a position of power and uses those noises that come out of his mouth to harm his constituents and strip them of legal protection gives you the right to ruin his life.

No I didn't. They don't deserve to have lies made up about them. They should be exposed for real hypocrisy, not fictional hypocrisy.

What have they done that's illegal? They're elected representatives who have a right to their opinion and to represent their constituents.

They're doing what's legal, yet you want to ruin their lives on the basis of nothing more valid than gossip.

Let's go to the video tape! Here's what was said:

So you were willing to ruin lives because people said things you disagreed with. And you made NO mention about having proof before you did so.

Duck, you kinda concern me, man. It's like you revel in your own ugliness, and love finding ways to expose it in others. You don't want to elevate people to a better ideal, so much as bring them down to wallow in the same muck you do.

It's not a thing to be proud of.

Do two wrongs make a right?

You're a trip, Z. You try to psychoanalyze me and get it wrong every time.

I'm a complicated man, and noone understands me but my woman.

For the hundredth time, it's not about disagreements. It the fact that their words have the potential to harm people. You keep ignoring that because it's inconvenient for you.

    You should've asked.

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can never hurt you.

I hate to have to resort to these time worn phrases, but you guys don't seem to catch on otherwise.

Elected officials have the same right to free speech you have. Obama does stuff that hurts me monetarily and hurts the long term safety of my family and nation.

But I don't think that gives me the right to ruin his life. I'll just try to vote him out next time.

When you're in a position of power, your words CAN hurt people. You guys don't seem to understand the concept of that.

Oh boy, we have a martyr.

No doubt about it, if Obama were cheating on his wife you would want it exposed. Don't pretend like you wouldn't.
