I can see GLAAD's point.
First of all, when did Perez Hilton become a "gay hero?"
Secondly, I absolutely agree with GLAAD. The fact that Perez said that f***ot was the "worst thing he could think of to call him" speaks volumes.
If he were smart, he would have released a statement acknowledging that it was a horrible incident all around, and he deeply regrets that all of our society's homophobia has not escaped him, as indicated by the fact that when he was scared and intimidated, he resorted to a disgusting anti-gay slur that should never cross anyone's lips.
Instead, he attacks GLAAD for doing their job. Typical.
He was the man of the hour when he was calling Ms.California all sorts of names, much to the delight of all the homosexuals on this forum...
Sounds like a porn.
Who the hell would ever consider that guy to be a hero?
I mean, if HE is a hero, our society has fallen through the damn floor
Your memory is faulty. In the thread on this subject, Miss California: Gay marriage answer cost me Miss USA crown, the evaluations of Hilton from Prejean's critics were as follows:
Sorry, reality does not support the one-sided homophobic perspective you tried to bring in to that thread as well.
Gelfin, will you marry me?
Are you saying Perez Hitlon is a cheerful sandwich?
Also, the OP appears not to understand what a pun actually is.
Can we put him and Tonya Harding in a boxing ring together?
How about Hilton vs. Hilton. Perez vs. Paris.
A celebrity deathmatch for real?
I'd buy that for a dollar.
This is exactly like black people being allowed to use the "n" word. No one should be allowed to say F***t.
Perez Hilton is in noway, shape, or form a gay hero. He is a horrible vile person, that enjoys outing people, and inciting unneeded tensions between gay people and straight people.
I'm glad that GLADD is turning on him.
Just like all Democrats and moderates think Obama is the messiah, amirite?
Dude, you're strange.
And this matters why???? Seriously, Hilton got full of himself after the whole Ms CA debacle. Now he thinks he can be a de facto G&L spokesman? No, a true spokesman for Gs&Ls keeps his cool under any circumstance and the fact that Hilton can't (and even goes as far as saying or speaking a slur he is "fighting" against) means he should really apologize.
If that is what qualifies as a gay hero then I can't see why they would expect people to respect them or their choice.
PH is an attention ho. Getting his ass kicked is the best thing that could ever happen to him, hopefully next time someone does it right.
Point being? Yeah, off thread, but that's fine...
Seriously, I read Hilton's blog because it's pretty funny. However he's just a blogger and no celebrity, not even remotely close from a "hero"...
To clarify, the OP's title says hero, not the article. I don't think you'll find any of us calling Perez our hero.
No one here really wants your respect anyway.
Since when did Perez Hilton become a "gay hero"? And your respect? God- don't make me laugh. I couldn't care less about your respect. You people really crack me up. And Delta- check your facts before posting threads with inflammatory titles.
But you know what? He was right about Miss California. I'll stand by him on that one.
Well it looks as if Perez is getting the attention he wanted.
What is ironic is that he got punched in the face for calling the guy a gay slur.
Then we went to twitter about it before he called the police.
No one can deny that for the shortest of moments he was a star for the same-sex marriage movement, at least until he called Prejean a "F***ing B**ch". Now, he's just a jerk.
Which apparently led to his loyal fans clogging up the emergency lines in Toronto, on a night on which two other people had been stabbed. And he twittered from his phone.
LOL - like I said, you get the respect you deserve. The OP made the claim, I simply stated that if that defines hero for one part of our society then that part is very poor indeed.
Oh, please don't get your panties in a wad, I never said *I* respected his type ... I love their self imposed Darwinism though
What Perez did by using f slur is no different than certain people using the N word.
And you deserve none, and won't get it here. "LOL"
Political correctness - AAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHH!!!!
Would have been a much more interesting conversation had the OP titled his thread more appropriately- don't you think? I'm not a fan of PC either, but Hilton is for the most part, an idiot.
