This is not a thread to debate homosexuality, but I knew it would end up in the PRSI,
so why not go ahead and post it here to start with ;)

Just wondering if anybody finds this surprising
Do you agree or disagree with the survey results?

Honestly, the only one on the list that surprised me even a little bit was Atlanta. I'm actually surprised San Francisco and Dallas weren't on the list, but no biggie.

That's kind of a surprise I'd have figured Portland Or. and Seattle would have beat out Atlanta for queer per capita cities LOL

It's not based on the amount of gay people in a city only on gay bars per capita, etc., so it's not surprising. If it's not based on population, it's pretty much off. And sorry, Georgians, there's no way in hell I would ever live in Atlanta. I do not like that town.

If they were basing it on sheer numbers of gay people, that list would look very different.

Actually, here you go. Atlanta's #12, Chicago is #3. I'll take large numbers over percentages any day:

I laughed at that too. Also Bloomington, IN. But when I read some of the comments below the article someone clarified Bloomington. On campus it's okay to be gay, but leave campus and gays are subject to taunts, etc.

They state outright that it's not a scientific study. It's just for fun.

Preach on. Growing up I thought Atlanta was what cities were like, and I thought I just hated cities.

As far as Atlanta's "gayness," I don't find it that surprising at all. You've got the gay population of a whole very unfriendly region of the country needing someplace to land.

That what I thought too. Its a refuge from an otherwise hostile region.

Exactly. If you're gay and want to stay in the south, I guess that's where you'd go. But...it's...Atlanta. Sorry, I just really have never liked that town. Again, no offense, Georgians.

How do you know? Did you quiz them all about who they sleep with? Or maybe you snuck off to the bathroom stall with one of the waiters for a little Larry Craig action.

    I suspect the latter.

If you really want to find out the gayest city, look up Mazda Miata registrations. It is definitely the gayest car. Oh yeah, blue is the gayest color.

Hmm...I don't know too many gay guys who have blue Miatas. But I've known some closeted ones who have. I think it's a secret code. :) I think Larry Craig had one. :D

I can personally attest to the fact that Austin is full of very attractive gay men. There was a very cute cowboy I met there straight out of Brokeback mountain I swear. I was on vacation and I'm not sure why I left.
