I'm a Linux newbie but this appears to a Mac issue sooo... I downloaded a Gentoo LiveCD iso onto my Powermac 6100 (I'm a poor college student, and that's the only machine I've got a burner in!), mounted the iso with DiskCopy and burned it (as ISO 9660) using toast 3.5.7. I've got Toast 4.1.3, but you can't select iso 9660 with it. The burn was successful, but the CD won't boot on my rev. C iMac. When I restart holding down "C", the machine freezes with a disk not found icon (the little folder with the question mark) and I have to hard reset. I also tried it on a rev. D iMac and 300 MHz iBook. They simply ignore it and boot MacOS (all are running 9.2.2). The CD will mount properly under Mac OS, so it seems ok. The iso I downloaded was the "install-ppc-universal" located in gentoo/releases/ppc/2004.1/livecd on one of the ftp mirrors. Has anyone else successfully made this disc with OS9? any tips?
