Bush 'in envoy talks with Blair' - BBC

These people really are living in 'Cloud Cuckoo Land'.

(Please excuse the overuse of exclamations in the title, but!?!?!?)

Oh I dunno, I can think of several worse choices. Blair has lost much of his credibility in the region, but still he at least has a grasp and command of the issues that can only come with being head of a government for 10 years. I think it would be a unwise choice myself but at least he didn't try to appoint Bob Dole or Trent Lott or some old war horse.

i get that, but he's still the other guy who waged war in iraq. a bit of an image issue to overcome, i think.

....I think what we really should be asking ourselves is not what we should do but what we could do, and then focus on what we should have done remembering what we actually did.....We after all can change our mind later if we wish as we only really care about the results....

    :D

Any jobs for him in Iraq? Parking attendant?

Envoy for whom? Four blocs? I'm sure the diplomatic services and Foreign Offices of all these interests would have something to say about a Bush-appointed loose cannon. Bizarre.

I wasn't aware the United States law would allow a citizen of a different country to be a "foreign envoy" for the US.

did I just say that ?

That's probably why Bush hasn't mentioned it to them yet. It's about time the job was given to an honest broker.

On the contrary. Call me sceptical but this is the perfect cover for Blair to meet some of Carlyle's best customers.

Envoy my arse! It's a sales job.

It's not even a conspiracy anymore is it. They just outright do it because they think they can get away with it. Because they can and they do.
