Has anyone found a way to get rid of this button? I DON'T want to upgrade reminders because I have a couple of lists shared with people who have devices that can't upgrade to iOS 13. I also don't need any of the new features.

Having a big blue button there that will ruin my day if I accidentally hit it is NOT good.

I wondered if deleting the iCloud reminders in "Edit" might get rid of that altogether (I don't use Reminders much so there was nothing to lose trying). Unfortunately, iCloud reminders and the big blue upgrade target came right back. Watching for any better suggestions...

It's funny because I recall the button going away briefly on my iPad, but I don't remember what I did to make it go away. It returned eventually, so it was a moot point.

I feel this is one of the bigger things Apple screwed up with iOS 13. A completely irreversible database upgrade that's easy to accidentally do and breaks compatibility with previous operating systems forever. The Upgrade button really should be hidden in settings.

Especially since if you update Reminders they will no longer be visible on MacOS below Catalina, which hasn't even been released yet. (!!!)

I was extremely fortunate to accidentally run across a thread that passed on a warning from the Fantastical developers. I'm sure I would have put my foot right into this otherwise. It's sort of incredible that Apple did not provide a clearer caution on this.

It was also completely unnecessary. Apple adds features to other iCloud services like Photos without doing this; why must Reminders have this annoying problem?

The thing is if they were to delay Catalina release then they shouldn’t have allowed people on iOS to be able to activate it.

This worries me too. Aside from Mac OS Catalina current unavailability, I have an iPhone running iOS 13 and an old iPad Air which will never support iOS 13/iPadOS but otherwise works fine for me, and several Macs. I use Reminders heavily, sync'ed across all three platforms. If ever I accidentally updated Reminders on my iPhone, that'd be a big problem. I agree the upgrade button should be hidden

I did NOT upgrade the Reminders app in IOS13, the "upgrade" blue button is still there, and now none of my reminders that sync via exchange/Office365 are syncing between iPhone IOS13.1.2 and Macbook running 10.14.6.... Pretty annoyed, as I use them extensively every day and now I have different items on each device that are not syncing with each other.

I don't get why Apple won't just update the app in the AppStore. Why do you have to install a whole new fu.cking system just to update a few apps?

Most likely because these apps are deeply integrated with the OS.

Now that Catalina is out, has anyone upgraded their reminders? I did and all hell has broken loose. I now have four devices with four sets of reminders. Some sync, some don't. The version on the web is also different.

I have tried removing/turning off reminders from each device and then turning it back on...and get a different result each time.

I've got the details backed up; is there some way to wipe EVERYTHING out and start from a clean slate?
