soo. I am getting a MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display soon!! And I have a hardware question.. Let me say that the laptop will be used for Graphic Design and Light Video Editing and youtube and coding and school. PS: I will be using the education discount.
Specs I have picked so far:
-2.6GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5
-256GB FLASH
-16GB RAM

My question is... Should I upgrade to the "2.8GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7"?

Price With The '2.6GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5' ($1,777.49 AFTER TAX)
Price With The '2.8GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7' ($1,969.19 AFTER TAX)

I'd go with a 512GB SSD before upgrading the processor. You won't see a great difference in performance from the CPU upgrade, but you will see a nice increase in disk speed (and storage capacity) from the 512 SSD.

So would this be a better choice? And also.. the ssd speeds are the same on both. just a higher capacity..

2.6GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
512GB FLASH

TOTAL WITH TAX AND DISCOUNT: $2,001.14

Also... I may just go for the 512gb and the i7. But is the i7 worth it for what I am doing?

Actually, the speeds are not the same on the SSDs. While the SSDs may be rated at the same speeds, the 512GB models consistently get higher read/write speeds than the 256GB models. Additionally, with the 128/256GB SSDs, you may get a SanDisk drive which is slower than the Samsung model (the 512GB and 1TB SSDs are all Samsung, so you don't risk running into that issue there). You won't be CPU locked with the i5, so upgrading to the i7 won't make a significant difference for you.

i7 is not worth it at all, way too expensive for the small performance gain you get in return.

Cool! Good to know. I am going with the 2.6GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz!!
