iPhone GIPHY app updates break the app icon in the Messages app

Every single time the GIPHY app gets an update, it breaks the icon in the Messages app. Any idea why this happens?

Restarting the phone doesn’t fix it, but installing a new software update (public or beta, both work) always fixes it.

Is there any way to fix this without a software update? It’s real annoying. Looks like the YouTube app icon broke with the latest update, too. Dammit.

I’m just a user.

I actually emailed the GIPHY support team about it last night and they said that they’re aware of the issue and are working hard to fix it.

But, again, I see the same thing happening with the YouTube iMessage extension so it must be some sort of system bug and not something the developers are doing wrong.

I have noticed the same with the IMDb app.
