she has pretty good points.
Smart girl. Refuses to subscribe to the dominate paradigm. I admire that in anybody.
Remember Ms. magazine? I haven't seen that in years.
Real easy to do when you did not have to fight the battle to get there.
to the double standards she listed
I truly hate the argument she's making with a passion.
It's like going to a breast cancer walkathon and assuming none of them care about other forms of cancer, HIV, and etc.
It's like how people criticize #blacklivesmatter because the group doesn't focus on tragedies from of other races.
She's basically putting out the logic, that everyone should fight for everything all at the same time regardless if something specific affects you more or less. That's completely idiotic and not apart of reality.
Get to the point where equal rights are no longer cool so you can stand there and denigrate all those who fought so hard to get the spoiled little brats them rights.
we have equal rights? sweet.
That sentence is unintelligible. Are you suggesting that because women's suffrage passed over 100 years ago she has no right to an opinion?
No I am stating that the ungrateful tone/intent most of these I am not a feminist posters have is down right disgusting. They are turning their backs on all the hard work done by countless people to make the world where they do get to put in their misguided two cents. And if you were to turn back the clock to the no feminist having ever existed world, they would be the first in line demanding changes.
who said anything about turning back the clock?
I did in case you cannot read a sentence. My point stands the same people who are the I am not this I am not that are the same ones who if they did not enjoy the benefits of those who fought hard for them to have, would be outraged they did not have those benefits.
For starters we can all start by addressing her as "woman", not "girl".
Wouldn't it be weird for a guy to see an article referring to a video he made and have all the commenters referring to him as "boy"?
Did you even watch the video? Because if you did then you grossly missed her point, that being if feminism was about equal rights then it would focus on equaling the unequal rights on both ends of the gender spectrum. Since feminism doesn't try to do this then equal rights is a disingenuous platform.
Other than custody how are women advantaged?
You didn't watch the video either?
first you have to get equal rights then there needs balance.
it is like saying white people need to have equal rights to blacks cause they can't have white lives matter parades. till woman are equal to men the argument is just pointless. I remember her video on rape and how many men are raped so women should stop complaining. but she is able to do what she is doing because of feminism.
How are you going to ask that, when my entire post addressed it? You can't fight every fight at the same time. She's countering what's unjust with other things that are unjust, and calling it hypocritical.
aren't equal rights about balance?
No, she points out the hypocrisy of claiming a platform of equal rights when the whole feminist movement cherry picks what they want equal between men and women.
first you have to get to the balancing point before you can play with the perfect balance.
poor abused men poor abused white person poor abused christian.
as she pointed out, there are plenty of things far from "balanced"
So the OP is into quoting college sophomores as experts these days?
Here's our Ann-Coulter-in-the-making, debunking climate scientists on global warming ...
While the OP might endorse any twit who agrees with him, I'd be a little more considerate of the sources I'd choose to base an argument on.
right but woman have had it worse all through history. they still overall have it worse. yes there needs to be balance but there are still people who want to bring back the good old days. so women need more to get only somewhat equal. it is going to be awhile before people stop treating woman worse. sadly she is blind to how feminism has allowed her to voice her opinion.
I mean do you think black people would be where they are today if they just said lets all be equal and left it at that? no they had to find and are still fighting. should we throw out. discrimination laws because we are all equal and it will happen naturally?
so some are more equal than others & they need to be that way, got it.
