FOX NEWS AND MERCURY RADIO ARTS ANNOUNCE NEW AGREEMENT

NEW YORK-- FOX News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck's production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the FOX News Channel (FNC) as well as content for other platforms including FOX News' digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year.

So is Beck is "transitioning" off to develop some new shows? Good for him to be able to make more shows or has he been ousted off due to falling ratings and dropping advertisers?

It appears that he's getting involved in more projects at Fox.

Yes, it was my poor attempt at sarcasm.

yeah, good move. Take a guy who lost 200 sponsors and whose ratings are falling and put him charge of creating more shows.

Creating shows and getting them aired are two separate things.

My guess is that Beckco has reached its sell by date. The only future he has now is on late night paranoid talk radio.

By distancing Beck from Fox, it will allow Beck to do what he does best while providing more insulation for Fox. If anything, this will increase Beck's ability to push even more radical right-wing views because he will no longer be constrained by Fox, but still have access to Fox for distribution.

Is that because Tea-rump conjures an image strikingly similar to santorum?

Oh come on, you can't compare the two. One is a drug addicted, alcoholic misogynistic narcissist with delusions of grandeur and megalomania who goes on TV and rambles on and on incoherently and then takes his circus act on the road, and the other is Charlie Sheen.

I thought I read Lou Dobbs being hired by Fox News a few months ago. Maybe he'll take over that slot?

Trump just needs to stick to what he knows: putting his name on buildings, and shtuping his latest trophy wife with his monogrammed penis. The last thing this political featherweight needs is another show to feed his monumental ego.

    Excellent. Very Maher-esque. :D

Perhaps less Glenn Beck will help improve these old stats (from December):

    Fox News Makes You Stupid
    • 68% of voters believed that economists estimate that (the stimulus legislation) only created or saved a few jobs and 20% even believed that it resulted in job losses.
    • 53% of voters thought most economists have concluded that health reform will increase the deficit.
    • 44% of voters thought the economy is starting to recover, while 55% thought the economy is still getting worse.
    • 45% of voters thought most scientists think climate change is not occurring (12%) or that scientists are evenly divided (33%).
    • 40% of voters believed incorrectly that the TARP legislation was initiated under Barack Obama
    • 54% believed that there were no tax cuts in the stimulus legislation
    • 86% assumed their taxes had gone up (38%) or stayed the same (48%), while only 10% were aware that their taxes had gone down since 2009
    • 53% thought that the bailout of GM and Chrysler occurred only under Obama

    (Numbers from secondary linked article)
