Global investors managing $32tn warn governments to curb global warming

While a bold statement, couldn't they direct some of those funds to environmental efforts?

Anyway, even the most powerful business people are now sounding the warming alarm. It is becoming political suicide to deny it.

You mean to say he needs more than $32tn for climate-control?

Sorry, no. global warming is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.

And if it is real, Obama orchestrated it. All by himself. (channeling my inner Jkcerda)

Because the Chinese want people to stop buying the stuff they make.

Ending fossil fuel subsidies is not a tax. It would tend to raise the price of gasoline and other fuels by 3x+, so it might seem like a tax at first, but those subsidies are partially already coming out of the taxes we pay anyway.

This is rather unsurprising. Funny how investment bankers are making suggestions on scientific topics. I’m not a climate change denier, but I see the need for practical solutions and striving to better understand the most effective ways to actually cut emissions. A lot of “green” technologies aren’t necessarily “green” when you factor in the unforseen costs and unintended consequences.

There’s huge sums of money to be made by these investors by propping up green energy- both effective or promising technologies and junk technologies that uniformed or short sighted people will latch onto even though it makes zero sense (ie many Carbon Offset programs). My dad has been working in investment banking/finance, primarily in the energy sector for idk 40years and has profited immensely from this little game.

It’s all business so whatever. He’s slowing down now and mostly doing consulting though, which is far less convoluted when it comes to goals (making money vs. actually making a difference).

Even the Pentagon has warned about climate change, that it threatens national security. But remember that our stable genius POTUS said he knows more than the generals.

I have seen changes since the 1990's.
Less snow on average every year is the most obvious sign for me.

Oh, and obviously you did not consider the Europeans could be doing it?
No, because #45 said it was China.

Here we go.... better do XXXXX or you’re all going to die. Been hearing that for years now. We should all be extremely dead by now. Right? I don’t get it.

Endangered tropical amphibian will be named after Individual-1. Because, it is blind, buries its head in the ground and is threatened by climate change. This is, apparently, not satire.

Pay more of your income and lower your standard of living to reduce your environmental footprint...

Oh, and cram in millions more people. ;)

Who said anything about dying? (unless you are very unlucky, or stupid, in some natural disaster).

It will just be far less comfortable living.

Yes, we are all going to die. It is the part before that the we should be concerned about.

It’s supposed to be 70 degrees F Christmas Day where I am.

That’s the one thing that will make me believe in man-man global warming!!
