i bought iphone 3gs (new, not used) and on the mute switch i found glue (or something similar). is this normal, is the switch made of two parts wich are glued, or it broke and somebody glued it before selling it?

1) I HOPE it's glue
2) No, it's not glued
3) Can you move it? Does it work?

Take lots of pics, try to use it. If it doesn't work, try to get a refund.

i dont know what else could it be..it works. but im afraid i got an used phone or something like that..it looks fine, doesnt have scratches but its obviously that somebody glued that button/switch. i read in an old iphone 3g thread that the switch (the metal part) was glued to the plastic part..but i dont know if its the same thing with 3gs..
