Depends on your taste. What's it like? Personally, I have a lot of white gold and silver tone jewelry, so I feel that a yellow gold watch would look out of place on me. I have a 42 SS at the moment, but I'm gonna buy some Hermès bands if they are sold separately at some point in time.

Gold plating is a bad idea and will quickly look terrible.

Do what you want, its your watch and if you like a certain look, go for it.

Gold plating is so meh IMO though but its not my watch.

    Enjoy it.

Not if it's done by a reputable company such as The Time Preserve. The bad ones were done by watchplate and goldmyapplewatch. You do get what you pay for.

If you're going to get it gold plated, definitely go with them and steer clear of WatchPlate. There are too many reason to list, unfortunately.

I've done research in the past and came across some reasons.

Honestly, you should go with what you like the best. Not everyone "loves gold" as you do, and will indicate their own preference in the poll. There's nothing wrong with gold-plating the AW, but you must go with a reputable company with the realization that you're voiding the standard warranty.

Just be aware that if you gold plate it, you are ineligible for AppleCare+ or the standard repair charge.

No, because I have the link bracelet and I don't like single-tone gold watches (including all gold Rolexes, etc.) as I think they're gaudy. However, I quite like the look of Edition models (paired with a colored band).

Of course, I want an Apple Watch Hermes, as well, and Hermes is being coy about how many they'll have in NYC on the 5th. So go with the gold plating. Less competition for me. :D

My opinion, get an original and don't plate, looks tacky.

I'll be first in line for that strap if it's made available for non Hermes apple watches.

Given that gold-plated AW with black classic buckle or black sport band look exactly the same as their Edition counterparts, you can't make the argument that they look tacky. Perhaps you consider the idea of plating tacky, but some people are of the opinion that artificial gold-colored aluminum is tacky.

If you love gold, get the gold aluminum. You won't have to fool with plating it, and you'll save money.
