Now. For the rest of the story.

Obama regularly plays on the course, and anyone planning an event there is told ahead of time that plans may be reshuffled at the last minute when the President in town, according to a manager from the company that handled logistics for the wedding.
Naile Brenna, the manager, said they had alternative options on stand-by, and the couple ended up having their wedding at a "much prettier and much nicer venue" near the home of the base's commanding officer, which has a view near the 16th hole.

After Bloomberg asked for a response from the administration, the President called the bride. McCarthy said Obama apologized and congratulated the couple, and the phone call "made their day."

The POTUS and most other world leaders do not directly check invitations. Those are handled by administrative assistants. The last person you would want in your wedding as a guest would be the POTUS because of all the security details.

Kind of missed the part where they were told they may have to change venues and they received a call from Obama himself thanking them.

I believe that they may have an objection to "Golfer in Chief." That is the Messiah that you are speaking of... How dare you not bow in reverence?

The OP seem to indicate that the POTUS is a heartless villain whose goal is to willingly take over wedding venues to play golf.

    It's not a negative thing.

Wedding guest: Move due to Obama golf game 'not a negative thing'

"They were thrilled and so excited" to talk to the President over the phone, Dryer said.
"It's not a negative thing," she added.
Guests to the wedding posted pictures on Instagram about the wedding with the hashtag "#thanksobama14."
The White House did not know the round of golf would interfere with the couple's wedding plans, a source familiar with the situation said.

On top of that, it's a half-truth (read: only half of the story) which leads to people being completely misled, leading to frivolous statements, such as:

Taking something neutral/positive and turning to a sensational negative news.

Dog owner sentences her own dog to death

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12/29/bela-the-dog_n_6390792.html?utm_hp_ref=good-news

By completely ignoring the rest of the story, it just sounds horrible.

What legacy will Obama leave: a GOP Congress? Most assassinations of American citizens? Most racially divisive era in our modern history? Most droned innocents around the world? The least masculine president to occupy the White House? It's hard to decide, given his cornucopia of failure.

    However, given this:

I have to wonder what all the fuss was about? And who gets married on a freaking golf course, anyway?

Not knowing the venue, I would say that if it had a nice view of the ocean or similar, that would make a great backdrop for a wedding.

    However, I also posit this:

If this was indeed a military wedding, and the parties invite the POTUS to the wedding, that implies that they knew that the POTUS would be there, as well as any and every security personnel related to the POTUS being there. Being military, they would have to know what precautions would need to be taken for that. If they were that foolish to invite the POTUS, not take those precautions into account, and then get upset because their plans were affected by the POTUS being there, they created their own problem.

That being said, this is nothing but sensationalism being reported, and the OP fell for the clickbait.

If it was a military wedding, POTUS is the CinC so he should have had that first dance with the bride. Not saying go Braveheart on her, just the first dance.

Yeah of all his criticisms, this is the first time I'm hearing "least masculine". What will peanut gallery come up with next?

Don't worry though, the least masculine title will probably go to Hilary in 2016. :D

Knowing Hawaii like I did a long time ago ( Navy ..Pearl Harbor) I would venture to guess there were likely more than one wedding going on that week-end.

Do you suggest the President make the rounds and dance with all new blushing brides while on vacation ?

More like most victories despite an obstructionist congress, strong job growth, low unemployment, strong stock market, low gas prices (not his doing but still makes him look good), eased relations with Cuba, messing with Russia's economy, ending our combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc etc etc etc. Need I continue? And to top it all off, his approval rating is 48%, a dozen points higher than his predecessor at this point in his presidency. Yeah, total presidential failure, keep drinking that fox news koolaid! :D

Nonsense They knew he would be in the area when they invited him. They did not know he would turn them down and instead decide to play a round of golf on the course they planned to have the wedding on, forcing them to find another venue.

Whether they were upset or not is immaterial to the fact that the president's need to play yet another round of golf is what caused the couple to have to relocate their wedding.
