Google search and new safari page and bookmarks

Noticed with the new update, when I open a new blank safari page, and then select my bookmarks, it initially shows my recent google search history below the google bar. Then I select bookmarks once it closes the google search history list, then select bookmarks again my bookmark list then shows.
Why show the google search history instead of bookmarks as I have selected?

Thanks. I didn't find that thread before I posted, sorry to duplicate.
It is rather annoying. Can't figure out the reason why they even changed to this feature.
