Co-sponsor of Abstinence Only legislation, Rep. Bill Cassidy (R) announced his unwed, 17 year old daughter is pregnant.

It appears that teaching "abstinence only" in his home failed as GOP Rep. Cassidy's daughter is an unwed, pregnant teen going into her senior year of high school.

GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy also supported Roy Blunt's 2012 "moral conviction" legislation.

Recall, Roy Blunt's 2012 "moral conviction" legislation exempted employers from providing any health coverage that went against their "religious beliefs or moral convictions."

That meant, Blunt's 2012 "moral conviction" legislation exempted all employers who had a "moral" objection from: providing birth control coverage, allow bigots to claim a “moral” objection to providing health coverage for minorities; employers with "moral" disdain for single mothers could deny them maternity coverage; Scientologists could deny coverage for mental health care; and over 20 million women receiving coverage for preventive services would have lost that coverage.

Kinda reminds me of Bristol "Abstinence Only" Palin. Palin is even worse though, she became an abstinence spokesperson AFTER getting knocked up at 17.

My point being that Scientology is in Germany, and is considered at least by some measure to be a religion.

    So what's Meister's point?

It seemed to me as if he were singling out the U.S. in a bizarre and unfair way.

I think his reaction may be more telling. A honest man would admit he was wrong on the issue and immediately shift to realistic programs. A dishonest man will double-down, reject his daughter, or make excuses.

While certainly hypocritical, I do have to point out that this article is from July of last year.

It's no more or less of a scam than any other religion.

Scientology here has a worse legal standing than the Hells Angels.
They are generally considered a dangerous criminal organisation, but it's hard to prove, beause they are clever. Their members or anyone associated with them are banned from performing civil services or working with minors. They are literally on the same government blacklist together with AlQuaida and ISIS.

    ----------

I am singling out the US. Scientology is a dangerous cult of insaniacs. They are not really recognized as a proper religion anywhere else.

    ----------

    Yes, it is.

    Please source that government blacklist.

    I'd love to see that.

That's quite the claim. Nowhere else in the world? Really?

    And what's a "proper" religion?

Is that like a "true" Scotsman?

    Pull out?

Please tell me that you're joking.

Pulling out is not a method of birth control.

...I hope to god you're not serious.

"Pulling out" does nothing regarding the pre-ejaculate that you can do nothing about but still contains sperm.

Who's sex ed class did you take?

There is a movie just out, on HBO, I think, on the subject of Scientology. You probably ought to see it. No other religion I know of goes to great lengths to protect its trade secrets (or even has any).
