    I honestly do not have an issue with them losing same day registration but I have been in state that has like a 30 day requirement before hand. It does prevent people from really screwing up were they vote.
    Students can still vote just getting the absent ballet. Not that hard to do. Just a little extra paper work to fill out. I did it in 2004.

    Is it necessary - No

    How does one respond to this poll? Both answers are correct and/or wrong.

    (edit) A closer reading seems to be that the question is only about necessity.
