The fiscally responsible party (previously the war mongers but now that's bad since Barry is lobbing cruise missiles) want to put signs on all federal buildings. Like they told us, it's all about jobs.

Seriously, this Congress has accomplished nothing in 3 months. Of course, they were only in session less than 25 days.

I already think the 'In God We Trust' on our currency and 'Under God' in the pledge is unconstitutional.

To the GOP, stop pushing your religious beliefs in government.

What if we put In Allah We Trust on the buildings instead? God on money, Allah on buildings, and Shiva in the pledge. Let us assume support from as many gods as possible!

How about none of that? How about everyone believes what the frig they want to without it being assimilated into everything, including and especially government.

The UK, which ironically doesn't technically have separation of church and state, has little to no such religious reference on buildings, money, etc. What is still left of it (such as the "god save the queen" anthem) is mostly just tradition rather than actual practice. We even have Charles Darwin on our £10 notes. Can you imagine the uproar of something like that in America? I find it both amusing and sad.

    The GOP??

    I suspect a typo.

It should read In Gold We Trust.

Can anyone say "veto"? Barry wouldn't let this go through even if it passes.

We brought Christianity from the old world. We should reference a real American religion on our federal buildings. You know, unification of church and state, and all that. How about we put Speaking in Tongues or In L. Ron Hubbard We Trust.

It's this kind of stuff that makes me so angry about how our government runs. Seriously, with all the current issues we have in America congress wastes time and energy working to put a "slogan" on government buildings. Look, I'm a person of faith, but our government is not a theocracy and wasting time and money like this is just ridiculous.

I don't know. A progressive radio station I was listening to was advertising gold, and the personalities were hawking gold as a safe investment all while Fox News had commercials for wind energy being the solution for oil dependence. It was like the twilight zone.

Glossolalia is definitely not an American invention.
Although those Snake-handling Pentecostals may have a claim.

This won't even get a vote in the Senate.

How can you tell over the coloring? :p

We've probably had this discussion before and I forgot how it was settled. But to me, "in god we trust" doesn't signify or glorify any particular religion, only the humility that there is something "above us." I, for one, am not threatened or upset by this.

^ Don't care. God in any form just has no place in government, IMO.

That might be a zing if I weren't totally sporting my natural hair colour for the last several months. So your lips - my arse - they should meet! :D

It doesn't glorify any specific religion, but why waste time and resources doing this? I thought the GOP was supposed to be all about cutting spending and shrinking government. Why are you going to waste my tax money writing that on federal buildings? I don't even believe in god. This is completely unnecessary and idiotic.
