If you aren't familiar with the sh i poopy that the GOP pulled in this election, you should look it up. After Florida 2000, and Ohio 2004, everyone should be afraid... very afraid.

I can see one of our conservative trolls who does not have the guts to show his face is downgrading a lot of us.

Can someone fill me in on exactly what happen. The article does not provide much information on the back story.

On Tuesday (election) night, Joanne Kloppenburg had a lead of 249 votes. Wednesday morning, a county clerk "found" a passle more of votes — 14K or so.

So this is incompetence or foul play. 14,000 votes? I hope there's an investigation because that's rediculous.

What raise red flags for me is how lopside the votes were in that 14k

Or that the new vote total just "happened" to be enough to avoid the mandetory state funded recount.

first of all,she declared herself the winner with 249 more votes...she knew there would be a recount with it being that close.second,a whole city wasn't initially counted..that's what those votes were...the dem certified all the info/votes were on the up and up...so you guys lost fair and square...quit crying...if the results were reversed you'd be saying too bad for the repubs...oh if there were magic votes then you would know what coleman in minnesota went through with al franken...with votes counted twice and votes found in the trunk of a car

So, it's ok that the county clerk who worked for the guy who won this election violated every rule designed to prevent election fraud?

I thought the GOP wanted to prevent voter fraud. They keep passing laws designed to make it more difficult for the poor, elderly and minorities to vote ostensibly to stop fraud (even though there is almost zero evidence of actual in person voter fraud), but here, it's ok for a partisan clerk to take personal possession of votes and for at least the second time violate numerous state election laws?

It's good to know that this has nothing to do with stopping fraud and everything to do with stealing elections.

Really, do you have a cite for that? What I saw was that the candidate chose to concede the race to avoid a costly recount that was unlikely to succeed. There is no question that the city was not counted, and there is no question that the votes from there were likely mostly for the GOP judge, but that does NOT change the fact that the clerk involved violated the law.

To NOT acknowledge that, and to allow such violations to occur without reparcussions, is setting the system up for future violations that could materially alter election results.

The GOP has complained for years about "Chicago" politics... this is as bad. This just smells rotten.

Ah yes. The obligatory "The Dems" lost the election so there must have been fraud thread.

If you have some evidence that there was fraud, (and the relative incompetence of some county clerk doesn't count) , trot it out. Otherwise, shut your pie hole and deal with it.

Look on the bright side. At least votes weren't found in someone's back seat! ( Hello Faux Senator Franken!)

Regardless of the final outcome, the fact that a judicial was so close ... tells me that there a lot of unhappy people in Wisconsin.

This ain't over by a long way.
