GPS Software/hardware

My brother has a gps program for his pc laptop. It has a usb receiver which he places on his dashboard and his laptop display a real time live map which give audio command. Is there an application for the mac similar to this? Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

i think there is one or two other things out there also.
