Do you think the phone launched next year up to nearly $ 2000 dollars? Currently, nearly $ 1,500, if the next year apple upgrade with the huge change on hardware they will rise to several hundred more and that nearly $ 2,000 dollars ,we all know apple is a big company , annual revenue is very important and must reach If it is not very easy to loose, so next year probably up the price of the user >> very top and get ready :D

1 more things = We will not see ATT Next bill $30-50 dollar in the future >>instead of $80-100 every month, = to Water or Electril bill house use>>> Hello To The Future :D

No wonder Apple is neglecting the Mac when it can sell phones for more money than an iMac! As long as it keeps selling they’ll figure out how to come up with new and more expensive models. I really can’t understand how those little new features can be worth so much to people.

iphone might be one of the most expensive yes. but this "price increase" is not just exclusive to apple, but the entire phone industry. How much has the s9 increased over its predecessors?

1tb phone with 5G and triple camera will probably be $1799 or $1899. $2k with taxes is probably a very realistic thing within 2 years. And people will happily pay it. Those of us who are cheap, frugal or broke will be phased out of the iPhone landscape within 5 years. The only option will be to buy a 1 or 2 year old iPhone.

i believe People will buying whatever is price sale, many people have thought $ 2000 to expensive because they didnt compare $ 2000 to 24 months split month by month program, the monthly is around 80-100$ bucks and that is the business plan ,

I go for it 2000$ = 2019 if they has all below

1/ redesign 40%
2/ 5G
3/ new color
4/ touch id display

It shows that Apple might be switching gears a bit. Sure, iPhone is currently their money maker, but we all know that smartphones are reaching its peak. Heck, the iPhone 6S is still a very good phone today. Any extra features on newer phones are just icing on the cake. Add on companies like Xiaomi that are selling top spec SD845 phone for $300. Smartphones is becoming a commodity, which is good for consumers (more affordable great phones), but not good for companies (like Samsung).

I'm sure Apple sees this. And although Apple will always have a USP, aka their own OS, I'm sure Apple can see that their market can shift quickly. So as a brand, Apple is pushing their ASP to keep their branding, but at the same time, they are getting their services off the ground. We probably are not seeing much yet, but we can see Apple exploring spreading their services around (eg. Apple music on Android).

Apple cannot be riding on the iPhone forever, and I'm sure Tim Cook is not stupid. Doesn't mean iPhone is going away, far from it (iPhone is a huge brand on its own).

I think this year iphone launched as a purveyor of pocket money, if customer accept $ 1,499 price then was hit by apple, and next year they will launch a new iphone with a better upgrade so they can pushed to $ 1,999 very easy, this year iphone is the fulcrum of apple prices, and next year is really great event:cool:

That above graph is misleading (intentionally). The iPhone 6 Plus 128GB cost $949 new. Top spec iPhones have always been top bucks. Considering the amount of improved technology the XsMax has over the 6 Plus, the few hundred extra for the XsMax is reasonable. (Though freaking expensive that's for sure).

This is what imo Phil should have done to show off the pricing. Steve Jobs does this a lot better.

During the Keynote, what Phil should've done is put the 8 Plus and X side by side. And then say we improve the X, same price, but with all these great stuff. Oh, and we also make a larger brother just for $100 more. Then what about the 8 Plus? It's currently selling for $799. So we are going to give all the same stuff, A12, edge to edge screen, FaceID etc, and we are going to DROP the price to $749, and it gets a new name, XR. BOOM!

Instead we get the boring run-of-the-mill spec listing and price announcement.

me too ,
I watched the event on iphone launch and found it a bit weird that Apple just launched iphone and apple watch which took time 1.hr 40 minutes, apple has no breakthrough for some people talk about game or A12 chip as long as the drama, but when introducing the iphone did not say much about the iphone as often , .... bored iphone launch ever i have watch

I really think that the majority of iPhone buyers and users are perfect with the 64G. Myself, I’m using the 6 plus still with 64g and I still have 25 gigs available. I am sure that there are many people that use 512G but considering the world population that buys the iPhone, 64 is plenty. And that phone certainly doesn’t cost 1400.

I got 512 on the Max because I am keeping this one a looooong time. No way I’m paying more for a phone than for a MacBook.

I’m pretty sure macrumors is hugely, disproportionately more interested in Apple devices than the public at large and if the grumbling is increasing here, I think that’s the canary in the coal mine. There are a lot of people who are willing to accept “iPhone” as an ongoing monthly budget item, but I think more and more people are going to say the one they have is good enough for now when future Septembers roll around.

I’ve purchased every iPhone 2007-2015 iPhone. Finally skipped the 2016 iPhone 7.

It’s simply not economical to purchase iPhones or similar high end phones for those prices year.

I did yet 8 plus last year ($799 with $300 sams club gift card). It’s the first base model 64gb I purchased. I always buy the mid level in storage size.

I preordered the 256gb iPhone Xs max. Just not sure I will keep it. $1250 with taxes is still a lot of money. And I have a very good job and income where money isn’t the issue. Just not any revolutionary improvement.

I used to buy iMacs every 2 years. The $2000 ones and up. But the last iMac I purchased was late 2012 iMac 27 inch with fusion ssd that cost me $2500.

I reckon the average consumer will keep iPhones 3 years these days now. The average MAC rumors user likely will keep iPhones 2 years. So apple knows people are keeping phones longer. So will just raise the prices more.

Apple increasing their price isn’t a very good solution to people keeping their phones longer, though.

Look pickture

8plus = 799$
X = 999$
Xmax = 1,499$
@@@@@@@@@@

iphone pro 2019 = $1,699 >
( special v or else ) 1TB 1,999$ model

With the phone market saturated, the only way to increase revenue is to increase the price- right?

How much have iPhone sales dropped over the years? I didn’t think they had but maybe I’m wrong. It seems like consumers are placing tremendous value on having the latest smartphone tech so the prices are searching for the most the market will bear. I’m still pretty happy with my 6S but I may look at the Xr. $1500 just doesn’t represent enough value for my money. I won’t pay that, let alone $2K.
