    President Walkback strikes again ...
Let's now wave goodbye to our tax dollars which will be sequestered in miles of reinforced concrete.

This is without a doubt, the most bone-headed government plan of my lifetime.

I prefer a high-tech virtual wall over an ugly, Brutalist steel-and-concrete eyesore.

Something that does the job with minimal visual disruption. Drones, sensors, that sort of thing.

I am waiting to see the source to cover this expense. If it's through border fees, or some trade barrier, then it's no problem.
If it's through regular taxation, then I might have a problem with it.

The $4 BILLION replacement price tag for Air Force One should also be on your list.

Hey. Trump wants AMERICANS to pay that ridiculous wall? Where is his promise to force Mexicans pay that wall?

Someone in my family says politicians are born liars, while businessmen or businesswomen are born crazy guys.

I am worrying about the future of USA. Hope there are enough dampeners on him.

You think throwing up trade barriers is "no problem"?

I think you are overlooking some very real problems there.

I wasn't clear. Not "no problem" in general (in itself I am not a fan of trade barriers). I meant that it would be like having Mexico pay for it, except that the check is signed by the USG although the liquidity comes from Mexico.

Did Americans honestly believe the Mexicans would pay for it?

    I am genuinely curious?

Why should Mexico pay for it if it's the USA that wants it?

Personally I'd cut 3/4ths of our defense spending.

3/4th could be too much but yeah... it's so bloated it's not even funny...

Of course not. It was obviously just an empty political slogan.

I'm amazed that any trump supporters bought it.

Everything is starting to come full circle. All those who voted for Trump are about to get excatly what they deserved for voting for this orange man child. They actually thought Mexico was going to pay for this stupid wall. Of course we tax payers will have to foot the bill for this wall.

This is only the beginning of the madness that is going to ensue for the next 4 years. I just pray in 2020 the democrats pick a likable and qualified candidate so we don't have to endure 8 years of this man child.

You can't. You would be at the mercy of other countries and that would be bad, not for the US but for many of the allies.

Who do you think pays "border fees"? Hint - it's not those wicked Mexican billionaires who are getting rich stealing all our tasty jobs.

"Border Fees" are paid by ordinary Americans for every product they buy. Like the maquiladora-made alternators and water-pumps on their F-150 pickup trucks. Or the Mexican-grown avocados and tomatoes those of us in the snow-bound North enjoy every winter.

U.S. and NATO's combined defense spending would still by far exceed any other country.

    But this is off topic.

That last word is yours, then I'm going back to discussing the wall.

You would agree, I hope, that trade barriers are a bit more complex than that. I am simply saying that before claiming that Trump lied or maintained his promise to see where and how the money actually come from.
