hope the video gets pulled, some kid might get in trouble if he does bring a gun to school.

I have got to say, this may be the absolute dumbest PSA I have ever seen. "Take your guns to school, kids! That is the right thing to do."

Not to mention stealing a firearm could be a felony offense in some municipalities.

    Real smart.

    Freaking idiots ......

    1) You don't encourage kids to steal, especially a dangerous firearm.

    2) You don't encourage kids to bring a gun to school.

    3) Most teachers will rat you out nowadays with all this zero tolorance rules.

    4) You can basically turn in a firearm at any police station, with no questions asked.

    5) When someone breaks in the home and mommy's trusted sidearm is gone, that kid will blame himself as he crys over her grave.

6)Mommy is an idiot too by having a gun placed with such easy access, with teenagers in the home.

Okay...we all know I'm not the biggest fan of guns and the rabid USA gun culture. So what do I say to this? This "PSA" is ridiculous, and absolutely the worst way to combat the issues.

Obviously, the best way is to arm more people. :p

    Damn, that's morbid.

You're missing your true calling, Live. You need to head up north and make Canadian PSAs. They're the worst.

Seriously. They are. Has anyone seen that "in a few minutes, I'm gonna slip and dump this pot of boiling water all over myself" ad? It's messed right slap the hell up.

PSAs that advise people to commit multiple felonies are odious.

So far all I can establish is that this is an independent film shown on the web.

A PSA implies that it's part of some publicly funded campaign.

    Is this the case here?

Or are we just talking about somebody's personal expression?

Where has this film aired as a part of a public awareness campaign?

And while you tend to that injury from falling on the floor you'll accidently stab your carotid artery with your swiss army knife which you've owned for 10 years and have used flawlessly until this very moment. Then you'll also drown in your own blood if bleeding out hasn't killed you yet.

Mercifully this is not a PSA in the Ad Council sense and will never be broadcast on TV, but it definitely is one filmmaker's attempt to cast something in the mold of a PSA.

If it isn't placed with such easy access how is she supposed to get to it when someone breaks into the home?

few if any think a break in will happen in the middle of the day, that is why you see many "night stand" or "bed" holsters ETC.

That's what I thought. Then I watched it. I'll never take boiling water for granted again.

I'd post a link to it, but I don't want to be responsible for subjecting you all to that.

Many lock boxes can be unlocked quickly. Also she could be creative. Like putting the weapon in a tampon box. No son in their right mind would mess with their mother's tampons. But in the most obvious place like a dresser draw, come on now.

I personally used to have a table lamp next to my bed with a compartment in the bottom.

So it's one person's personal expression.

    Big ****ing deal.

    Talk about low hanging fruit.

never liked the boxes, prefer a pump next to the bed VS a HG in a box.
