Yet an MP was shot and stabbed to death today in Leeds UK and the immediate reaction is shock and sympathy for her husband and young children. There are not masses of people trying to obtain guns and arm themselves up. Talk about bandwagon.

You really think it is the NRA that is somehow telling its members to run out and buy firearms? Do you have any proof of this?

They represent gun manufacturers, so they are obviously glad anytime something like this happens since their constituent's profits will go up even if they won't publicly say it is a good thing.

Come on, dude, They're a bit more subtle. Here's how it works.

    1. Mass shooting happens.
    2. NRA deletes a tweet or two from that same day.
    3. They go radio silent for a day or two.
    4. They come roaring back tweeting like mad that gun rights are under attack, call your Congressman, masturbate in your gun safe, you know, anything and everything short of run out and buy a gun.

Excellent point. I don't believe the NRA as ever advertised that people should run out and buy guns. That's just a fantasy shared among left-wing gun-grabbers.

No, it is the color! It totally clashes with my wardrobe. Do you know how hard it is to work a all black firearm into an a totally fabulous outfit without it looking tacky.

They go and pretend that there is a threat to gun rights when there isn't which then inspires people to go out and buy, and the gun manufacturers and NRA laugh all the way to the bank.

Imagine if gun advertising were like the recent TV ads for prescription drugs.

Happy go lucky shooters in the warm sunny background, while the voiceover describes all possible contraindications you might experience, including death.

You can be sure where the vast majority of people are deeply saddened and shocked by shootings like this, the boardroom at the NRA has a few fist pumps and high fives going on.

We know from recent history that appalling shootings bring in large profits for gun manufacturers. Gullible people who are fed fear often spend money on the 'what ifs'. It's fantastic for business.
