OT: where is this popular trend of jingostic truisms coming from?
Reebok has an "I am what I am" ad campaign. Todd Bertuzzi repeated "it is what it is" at a press conference to deflect questions about the controversy of him returning to Denver and I've seen at least a dozen more instances in the news where someone belches out "it is what it is" or some related utterance of nonsense.
Yes, Mr. Hadley. It is what it is. But what the **** is it?
