I am trying to move my iTunes library to my external HD and have been unsuccessful. I followed directions on a thread and for some reason I wasn't able to listen to anything. It kept asking me to find the location of the song. I turned Genius off and renamed the ex. HD file, so iTunes wouldn't keep looking for it there. Now there are 3 copies of most of my music (80+ gigs) and the other ones still won't play. HELP!!!

Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks in Advance!

Ok here's what you do.

1. Quit iTunes
2. Copy the folder: Macintosh HD>Users>(Your Username)>Music>iTunes into an external drive of your choice.
3. Hold the option key, and launch iTunes.
4. iTunes will prompt you to create a new library, or choose an existing library
5. Click choose an existing library and point it to the Music folder you just copied to the external drive.
6. You're welcome.
