Why are there gaps in the red lines at times in the heart measurement in the heath app?

I hope I hadn’t died during these times!
Those gaps are because you didnt have a heart rate at the BPM during that time Frame.

You had nothing between 70BPM to 82BPM (that was recorded) during the 9AM hour (first gap).

Ah. Makes sense. Been pondering over that for some time.

Thank you.
[doublepost=1508882751][/doublepost]Hmm. Just thinking about this again. If between 9am - 10am my lowest BPM was 65 and my highest 99 then surely I must have been everywhere inbetween? How can there be a gap? Why doesn’t the line show a solid line between 65 & 99?

How often is the bpm measured?

It depends on whether you're in a workout or not. If you click the 'i', then click 'Show All Data' it will give you the raw data and you can see how often it is pulling the heart rate data and you can see the gaps. The software will pull periodically but does continuous monitoring during a workout.

Heart rate is “randomly” monitored. Series 1 and later watches on watchOS 4 will monitor it more than past but there are times under a lot of movement where they still don’t monitor.

As to the gap. It doesn’t completely fill out the line unless there are enough data points in between to completely the bar. If you have a 65,71,73,77,81. It will fill out the graph. But if it’s 65,78,82,84. It won’t. It’s too big of gap. I don’t know the minimum space required for there not to be a gap, but I think it’s within 5BPM (unscientific just anecdotal).
