iPhone Health App - wrong initials displayed

When I first upgraded to iOS 13 on my iPhone 7, the initials displayed in the Health App suddenly changed from RD (which is correct) to JS. I figured this was a minor bug which would be eventually corrected, but the latest version changed it again to KS. This seems to be the app randomly choosing names from my contact list. Does anyone know how to change the initials or to force the app to select the (correct) initials again ? This is only an annoyance, but I can’t see in my searches on the forum that anyone else seems to have an issue with this ....

Are you talking about the upper right corner within the Health app? And are you seeing initials in a circle there in the generic manner that is sometimes used? Mine shows my photo, which I set up during the initial settings for the Health app. You can add your photo via Settings > Health > Health Profile > Edit. The initials should effectively disappear, replaced by your photo.

Thanks for that suggestion .... a reasonable workaround for sure, but I will still wait to see if anyone sees a way to fix the initials first. Cheers !

Maybe this won't matter, but using the method I described, can you choose your initials to display again as in the first instance that you referenced, when you first upgraded to iOS 13? Could be a glitch that you need to check on after each iOS upgrade. Shouldn't be happening but sometimes stuff does. Benignly annoying?

I tried your suggestion but could not figure out how to post a photo in the Health app .... however, I solved the original problem ! Under Settings > Contacts, for some reason iOS identified someone else as “me” and then Health used those initials. I did not have my own name listed under contacts, so I created an entry for myself (which seems silly) and then set it as “me”, closed Health and restarted it and the initials were now correct. I don’t know why iOS did this .... on my work iPhone which is the same version of iOS the word “me” does not show up in the contact list under settings .... another mystery ....

Good to hear that you got it sorted! I already had my info previously set up in Contacts and that likely made it much easier for me. Going into Settings > Contacts > My Info, Contacts listing opens up allowing for choosing your Info retained for use in apps like Health that would ask to use it.

Your Work iPhone may have a proprietary setup and therefore some things are different. You could inquire with IT if there's something missing that you'd like to know about or add.

Question for future reference: ever setup emergency info in Health? Seem to recall need a "me" contact for that (but I have had a me contact for ages [eg. Contact sharing, iTunes, Apple Store, Wallet, etc]).
