What would the late Martin Luther King Jr have said of the hospital that bares his name?

Well, apparently the usual Political Forum gurus haven't seen that other thread either.

Having had to take my dog to the vet last night after she tripped and injured her hind leg, I came to a realization....our pets get better healthcare than humans do. She was an emergency walk-in, and the vet saw her promptly and we were out in about an hour. And cheaper too. The entire bill was 200 bucks. That included the visit itself, anti-inflammitory pills, x-rays, a $20 no appointment fee and a bordatella shot we had to get her anyways next week since we're boarding her when we go out of town in 2 weeks.

I'd like to see a human suffer the same injury, and without health insurance, walk out of a hospital with only a $200 bill. And after only an hour to boot.

Even with insurance, I couldn't imagine how much your copay would be on all that.

I go to the Fresno VA Hospital for all my healthcare. The treatment I get there is top drawer! Everything is in house, meaning I don't have to go anywhere else for x-rays, blood tests or surgery; I can get everything done right there. The results for blood tests only take 45 minutes flat. Just their lab alone is bigger than most outside doctor's buildings.

When I have an appointment to see the doctor, there might be a half hour wait at the most. They also have a fully staffed ER that I can go to if I ever have an emergency.

Right now I have two doctors over there: one is my primary care doctor and the other one is an anti-coagulant specialist.

    Everything costs me $00.00 :)

Actually, the hospital "bears" his name.
