Hear Microphone Through Headphones

Is it possible to activate the iPhone's microphone and hear it through the headphones? Perhaps an app that allows this?

There's a few uses I want from this (such as quick recordings in a band and wanting to use the headphones as a monitor).

Anyone any ideas?

I know there was a professional music app that did just that, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called and I scoured the app store too ...sorry about that.

I did find an app called 'YaRec' that might be of some use though.

It may be overkill but from memory Smule's I Am T-Pain does this but with a filter. I have a feeling you can turn the filter off.
