Hello,
I'm sitting here and my machine is running and running and running, and I have all apps I was using closed. Even disconected the internet. I opened my activity monitor, and my CPU useage is through the roof. 90% ect. I found an app running called VSHEILDCHECK that's the culpret. I am using a g4 powerbook one gen old with 1.5 gig ram, and tiger. does anyone know what this is? Is it related to the VIREX that doesnt work with tiger? How can I shut it off, and make it not come back.

thanks chris

Yes, it's Virex. Kill it (vshieldcheck) from Activity Monitor (Applications->Utilities). Uninstall Virex ASAP.
