HELP! Can’t Set Password in Migration Assistant. Can’t migrate data

Trying to migrate from M1 mini to M1 max 16in MBP. Migration assistant won’t let me set a password. Neither will setting up the computer from a time machine backup. I’m on Monterey 12.1 on both machines. Can’t figure out how to get around this.

Have you tried to select a user account and then click Continue? You can setup password later
Just checked on my side (but not on an M1 Mac) -- everything was usual

That didn’t work. I had to install with a dummy user, upgrade to the latest Monterey beta, then use Time Machine backup after I erased all content from the dummy account.
