Software unlocks died four years ago.

Call your carrier and ask for an unlock. If they won't give it to you, then look for an online unlocking service and pay their price.

If your carrier is Sprint you can only get an international unlock through an online unlocking service. I doubt moving to America, establishing service for 90 days and paying your bill on time so you can get an international only unlock is a valid option for those who live outside the USA.

If the carrier the phone is locked to does not exist in your country then your only option is probably to find an online unlock service.

Last but not least are SIM interposers. Gevey or R-SIM. Not a true unlock, but they may work for you.

There is no software unlock hacks for the 4S.
Only imei unlocks and gevey sim adapters.
You didn't say what carrier your 4S is locked to though. That's what matters the most.

hi
thank you for the information guys. i have a friend told me sim unlock would take days for unlocking. anyway i wanna try imei unlocking. does anyone know which online service is cheap and reliable for unlocking? again i really appreciate for your help.

Let me ask again so I can try to help you.
What carrier is this iPhone 4s locked to?

----------

Try Chronicunlocks. Should be about $40 for the unlock.

With some carriers locked iPhones imei unlocking is not possible.
So it's not all the same one size fits all for $40.
