I am not sure what to do. I cannot start my mac without getting a kernel panic. I tried to startup with the boot cd, into single user mode, and I tried zapping the pram. Nothing works, can anyone help me? Thank you so much.

RAM

Problems like this is almost always the ram. Try taking out all but one chip and see if that fixes it and then rotate chips to find a bad one. Also, make sure you unplug all external devises other than a mouse and keyboard.

besides the RAM thing, which it probably is, make sure you disconnect all peripherals. Even analog ones like speakers.
